Burned Out and Barely Holding It Together: Minimize Fatigue, Turnover, and Medical Errors Through Better Team Communication
Tuesday, April 14th, 2026 | 8:00AM - 9:00AM
Sierra Neurosurgery Group
5590 Kietzke Lane, Reno, NV 89511
Presented by: Alexia Vernon,
Step into Your Moxie
Session Description:
In healthcare practices, communication failures don’t start in the exam room—they start at the front desk, where administrative staff and practice leaders manage nonstop patient flow, emotional intensity, and operational pressure with little margin for error. These breakdowns have serious consequences: communication failures contribute to an estimated 250,000 deaths annually, making them the third-leading cause of death in the U.S. (Johns Hopkins).
For administrative leaders, sustained overload and urgency keep the nervous system locked in survival mode. When people are dysregulated, communication at work deteriorates—not just with others, but internally. Self-talk becomes reactive, boundaries erode, and concerns go unspoken in the name of “getting through the day.”
In this session, participants will learn how to interrupt this burnout–communication cycle in real time. Front-line administrative leaders will explore how nervous system regulation, self-talk, and somatic awareness directly affect their ability to communicate clearly under pressure, set boundaries, and speak up before problems escalate. They’ll discover simple tools to restore energy throughout the workday, and learn how to articulate needs and limits in ways that reduce stress, protect patient flow, and improve performance—so speaking up becomes a stabilizing force rather than another drain on already limited capacity.
NO FEE TO ATTEND!
